The summer trucks onward, summer classes are close to complete, production of stuff is fairly good. I'm looking forward to having a new space to work in. Not that the studios at school aren't good, on the contrary they are fantastic, just not when they are more than half empty, only open until 11 pm and not even open on weekends. But more than the cramping restrictions, I miss the people in the studios more than anything. Being in the same work space as your creative peers pushing each other to make more and better things is the best part of the studio experience.
The real life panic has yet to set in, I still feel like come september I'll be going back to school. I guess still being in class kind of offsets that a bit.
speaking of which, homework from two weeks ago
By the end of class I should have 8 more paintings done, which will nicely kick off a new set of images for a portfolio. Oh shit, I have to remember to buy an actual physical portfolio book, I really should have done that a while ago.

So the summer has begun and the post graduation depression may be poking it's ugly head out of the water. Well not particularly now because I start a bunch of summer classes next week and I don't really get kicked out into the real world until summer is over. The feelings of impending failure and loneliness encroach nonetheless.
But this sort of thing is to be expected.
I found an old motobecane bike in the shed in my backyard that had been sitting there for who knows how long. All of the mechanisms still worked but the tires were crumbling so I took it to the bike shop for replacements.
Sketchbooks, what a wonderful thing to have and hold.
I've been back in Mineola for a little over a week and the humid sticky feeling of entrapment is already setting in. It's great to see the dudes back from school and do nothing all night while making dick and fart jokes but other than that the suburbs are so fucking BORING.

Tonight is a night filled with strange and erotic pictures involving bears in COMPROMISING situations. The school years is winding down, and stress is winding up. An end of year studio show, a portfolio to prune, summer classes? Summer internship??? SUMMER???? Comic Con is this weekend, I might be able to sneak on board the SS cartoon allies and get into that convention.
Tonight the dudes who make venture brothers came to my school to show an episode, talk about the show and argue about the virtues of flash vs illustrator. I drew them from my lofty stadium seat and got them to sign the drawing afterwards.

Week one of this semester complete
Painting one of the semester almost complete. I have to lay in some patterns on that thing!
This is it dudes, the last semester of my schooling career! To think I will no longer go to school after this. Very exciting.

Every day at six the church across the street from the studios rings it's bells. It has the same exact tone and beat as the intro to aerodynamic by daft punk. So I kind of have to play that song at six every day.

So, everyone, this year has been the most intense yet, truly a test of tenacity for the eager illustrator to be. I've been spending almost every day in this space, working away in hopes of gaining just a bit more experience, a tad more skill each day I stay.

So on this fatefull eve, I metamorphasized into a beautiful man god, tremble all ye in the glory that is Zutrau, Lock up your daughters, hide your wives, because I'm coming.
Tonight I celebrated my epic birth with some friends in the studios, at the stroke of midnight I cracked open a 40 and poured one out for my homies.
So here I am, slightly intoxicated enjoying life, what a wonderful day, tomorrow I'll be hanging out with Jesse and Mike D going to see anamanaguchi, rock on.
